According to a new DOD report, the Coast Guard is having major staffing shortages and great difficulty in attracting new recruits. In July, new Coast Guard commandant Admiral Linda Fagan told Congress that the USCG is woefully short of the 4,200 cadets they need to recruit this year.

Yet in that same meeting, Adm. Fagan was forced to admit that despite the shortages, the Coast Guard had already fired 107 guardsmen and women for refusing to relinquish their right to reject the COVID shots.

This week, Adm. Fagan has booted all “unvaccinated” cadets from the Coast Guard Academy—EVEN though she knows Liberty Counsel already has a federal court case pending to end her purge of Christians and people of faith from the Coast Guard, its reserves and its academy.

Adm. Fagan, along with the DOD, is clearly trying to obviate our case prior to the court’s ruling, firing all religious accommodation requesters before the court can enter an injunction. The last two service branches we are fighting to win classwide protection for are the Coast Guard and the Army.

Congress is beginning to take notice.

“It is outrageous to punish young men and women who want nothing more than to serve their nation,” said Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). “These are the types of ridiculous, unnecessarily punitive measures that discourage patriotic Americans from joining the military. The Academy should stop playing politics and focus on preparing cadets and midshipmen for their future service.”

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) weighed in, saying, “Forcing our brave young men and women preparing to serve our nation to violate their consciences and religious beliefs is ridiculous and completely un-American.”

“Joe Biden’s outrageous and plain mean-spirited vaccine tyranny knows no bounds,” says Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS).

Retired U.S. Air Force (USAF) Col. Ron Scott asked, “What’s the rush? The cadets pose no danger to others,” noting that tens of thousands of unvaccinated persons already serving in the armed forces pose no danger to their vaccinated colleagues.

In fact, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) itself has now revoked its COVID segregation rules, and has admitted that the shots do not prevent contagion.

“It is nonsensical to dismiss seven highly qualified USCGA cadets, who have expressed a fervent desire to serve their country,” Scott says. “When will politicians and military leaders have the courage to put an end to this tyrannical mistreatment of citizens?”

On August 18, Liberty Counsel won class certification and classwide protection for the U.S. Marines. Now this list includes classwide protection for the Navy, Air Force, Space Force and the Marines. The federal court continues to review our brief for Army and Coast Guard protection. I have no doubt that the court will not be pleased with the DOD’s latest dirty trick.

Federal law states that no one, not even military service members, can be forced to take an FDA Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) drug.

Further, the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) makes clear that the administration cannot force federal employees or military service members to violate the tenets of their genuinely held faith. In other words, Joe Biden cannot force ANYONE to take his COVID jabs—and he cannot fire military members for refusing to violate their deeply held religious beliefs against taking an abortion-linked drug like the COVID shots.

In his most recent federal court order, Judge Steven Merryday was very clear, writing, “Obviously, RFRA includes everyone from the President to a park ranger, from the Chief Justice of the United States to a probation officer, from the Speaker of the House to a member’s district office staffer, from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to a military recruiter — even if they do not like it and even if they do not agree with it. The Free Exercise Clause and RFRA are the law of the land.”
