Growing Public Support for Christmas Forces Retailers, Government Officials and Employers to Take Notice
Following on the heels of Wal-Mart admitting that censoring Christmas is not a good idea, other retailers, cities and school systems are starting to take notice of Liberty Counsel's Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign and the growing public support for Christmas.
After the Medway School District in Massachusetts was criticized over its censorship of Christmas, the superintendent recently gave teachers guidelines that allow celebration of the Christmas holiday.
We are compiling outrageous examples of the censorship of Christmas. You can read more about Medway and others Christmas issues in our News Release.
You Can Help Save Christmas in Berkley, Michigan
We need you to take action on another Christmas issue right away. At a meeting on November 20, Berkley, Michigan will consider on whether to keep a nativity scene in the city. For more than 65 years Berkley has displayed a nativity scene. The City's Christmas display also includes a Star of David, Christmas trees, a Santa Claus, a Santa's Mailbox, and a Seasons Greetings sign. The City Council is considering moving the scene after reports of ACLU threats. Contact City leaders to leave the nativity where it has always been. The Supreme Court has already ruled that religious Christmas symbols such as nativity scenes may be displayed with other secular symbols. You can contact the mayor, and members of the council through the City's web site.
The web site www.LC.org/helpsavechristmas has much more information on how you can make a difference this Christmas.
