Lynchburg, VA – Beginning Saturday and continuing through Sunday, "Voting Christian Values," a message delivered by Mat Staver, will be telecast to millions of homes. Staver, who is the Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, delivered the message earlier this month to about 10,000 people at Liberty University, where Jerry Falwell, Jr. serves as Chancellor and President.

In the message, Staver referred to several Founders, like Samuel Adams, who said that voting is a solemn trust for which we are accountable. Rev. Charles Finney, a revivalist in the Second and Third Great Awakenings, once said: "Christians seem to act as if they thought God did not see what they do in politics. But I tell you He does see it – and He will bless or curse this nation according to the course they take." James Garfield, our Twentieth President, once said that if this nation ceases to be great, "it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces." "Voting is a privilege given to us for the purpose of doing good. We are accountable to each other, to future generations, and to God for what we do with our vote," commented Staver.

Staver also talks about prioritizing values, stating that the right to life is the right of all rights. The right to free speech or the right to own property is irrelevant to a corpse. He pointed to the Declaration of American Values (www.LC.org), which prioritizes core values, and noted that the number one value must begin with life. Staver pointed out that not all values are equal. Life always trumps the economy. Indeed, the two are not in the same league. Staver said, "If you cannot bring yourself to take the life of a child in the second or third trimester, then why would you hire someone to kill the child for you? That is exactly what we do when we vote for a person who supports abortion."

Staver speaks about other important values, such as marriage, and much more. Once your values are prioritized, then determining whom you will vote for to best advance Christian values becomes easy. "We have four choices: vote for the person who will best advance our values, vote for the one who will decimate our values, cast a protest or symbolic vote for a candidate who has no chance of winning, or don’t vote at all. The last two options are the same as the second - they are votes for the person who will decimate your values. Such a vote is unacceptable," remarked Staver. "If you are waiting for a perfect candidate, don't hold your breath. Unless Jesus himself is on the ballot, we will never have a perfect candidate," Staver said.

The "Voting Christian Values" telecast will begin airing this Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. ET on the Inspirational Network (INSP). Then on Sunday it will air at different times on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), Daystar Television Network, Cornerstone Television, FamilyNet, Sky Angel, The Liberty Channel, The Church Channel, The Miracle Channel (Canada), Direct TV 323, Dish Channel 219 and numerous other cable and local channels. For a complete listing of airtimes, see the announcement on Liberty Counsel's web site.
