Liberty Counsel and The Salt and Light Council (SLC) are pleased to announce that SLC has officially joined the ministry of Liberty Counsel. Liberty Counsel will be the controlling organization for both ministries. Dran Reese, Founder and President of SLC, joined the Liberty Counsel board and will continue to serve as President of SLC. Several board members of Liberty Counsel have joined the SLC board, with Mat Staver serving as the Chairman of both boards. SLC is a 501(c)(3) ministry located in southern California and was founded by Dran Reese in 2008. Together, Liberty Counsel and SLC will have offices in Florida, California, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Israel.

The Salt and Light Council is a ministry tool for local churches and currently numbers about 80 congregations throughout the country. SLC conducts workshops and provides training to establish Salt & Light Biblical Citizenship Ministries in churches that offer education in worldview issues, along with ways people can advance religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, marriage, family, and support for Israel.

“Looking back on the birth of this nation, it is clear the Great Awakening gave birth to the American Revolution,” observes Staver. “The sermons of pastors were literally the fuel for the American Revolution. I believe the same can be true today. That is why Liberty Counsel is working with pastors and churches during this critical time in American history. The Salt and Light Council will greatly enhance our Pastors and Patriots initiative.”
