Supreme Court vs. Supreme Law

Jun 25, 2013

On Wednesday the Supreme Court will release two decisions on marriage. Like other natural laws or even the immutable laws of physics that govern our lives, marriage predates civil institutions. Marriage cannot be redefined into something it is incapable of being. Any attempt to do so will result in the loss of authentic human freedom, particularly religious freedom, and will harm children and society.

I predict that Chief Justice Roberts will write the opinion on California Prop 8 (the marriage amendment) and Justice Kennedy will write the opinion on the Federal Defense of Marriage Act. We may well get mixed signals in these two decisions. We shall soon see. No matter what the Supreme Court decides, the battle over marriage will continue. This is the defining culture line.

Late last week, more than 200 leaders from many faith traditions signed the Marriage Solidarity Statement,  including many nationally known ministries representing tens of millions of members. In the last 24 hours, tens of thousands of others have added their names to this Marriage Solidarity Statement.

As we watch together, let’s also partner in prayer. Our nation is facing a serious moral crisis.  Join me today in reflecting on God’s faithfulness, praying for forgiveness, and pleading for His mercy.

The battle for the heart and soul of America will be won on our knees. The greatest weapon the church has is prayer, and yet it is that weapon that we most neglect. Join with me and intercede for America today.

Join us today in signing the Marriage Solidarity Statement and praying for America during these uncertain times.

Take Back America

This revised edition (2011) by Mat Staver lays out the clear biblical and historical basis for bringing America back to her roots.

"God is the foundation of good government and national prosperity...America is broken...Something must be done. America doesn't need another program. Money won't fix our problems. Articulate politicians will not save us. We need God in America again."

Paperback, 118 pages. Suggested Donation of $12.00.
