May 14, 2026
This Sunday, May 17, 2026, thousands of people are expected to gather on the National Mall in worship and prayer to “rededicate America as one nation under God” ahead of the nation’s 250th birthday. In February 2026, President Donald Trump called on all Americans to come together on May 17 for a day to pray, praise, and give thanks.
The event, called “Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving,” is a national moment for giving thanks for God’s providence, to reflect on the nation’s 250-year history, and to seek God’s guidance for the next 250 years. The all-day sacred dedication event, which is free and open to all Americans, will begin with sunrise worship in front of the United States Capitol and will conclude with a music-filled evening on the event’s main stage on 12th Street. Event organizers noted people unable to attend in person can join through livestreams hosted by partner ministries, churches, and organizations.
The event’s thematic program involves three central “pillars” focusing on the faith of America’s Founders, current testimonies of faith, and seeking future blessing and direction.

The first pillar is called “The Miracles that Made Us,” which is “a reflection on God’s providence throughout 250 years, honoring the faith that inspired America’s founders and has carried us forward in every generation since.”
The second pillar, “The Miracles Still in Our Midst,” will have “personal testimonies of God’s healing in our lives and in our land.”
The final pillar, “A New Birth of Faith and Freedom,” will involve a “collective expression of gratitude for 250 years of freedom,” and will feature a “unified moment of rededication asking for God’s blessing, guidance, and grace for the next 250.”

Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “Faith and freedom go hand in hand. The Founders understood that a nation with lasting liberty could not be established without faith and prayer. The ‘Rededicate 250’ event points the nation to God to offer thanksgiving and praise while seeking His continued providence and blessing over our liberties for our future generations to come.”
