Following Exoneration and Reinstatement of Teacher Jerry Buell

Leesburg, FL – Liberty Counsel will host a press conference to address yesterday’s decision to exonerate and reinstate Jerry Buell to his teaching position in the Lake County School District. The press conference will inform the local media of tonight’s Florida Awake! rally and address any questions regarding teachers’ First Amendment rights. Attacks on religious freedoms are becoming more frequent and it is necessary that individuals unite to protect these rights.

The Florida Awake! begins at 7:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Mount Dora High School Teacher Jerry Buell, who was suspended last week for his personal Facebook comments opposing same-s*x marriage, is scheduled to attend the event and share his experience, along with others who have endured persecution for their Christian beliefs. This event will gather support from individuals in Florida to take a stand for their constitutional rights. The rally seeks to motivate, educate, and equip the public to restore our nation’s values, as our Founders originally intended.
