Liberty Counsel Urges Rejection of Massachusetts Bathroom Bill

May 5, 2016

Liberty Counsel recently sent a letter to the Massachusetts House of Representatives urging them not to pass House Bill 4253 (formerly HB1577), known as the Bathroom Bill. This bill would impose criminal penalties (including up to a year in jail) on business owners who attempt to prevent biological men from using women’s facilities.

Massachusetts legislature already passed a “transgender” rights bill in 2011. The only public accommodations not covered under this existing law and policy are bathrooms, locker rooms and other lawfully sex-segregated facilities.
