Washington, DC – Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver will be joined by other leading conservative figures, including Sean Hannity, Newt Gingrich, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Jim DeMint, Gov. Bob McDonnell, Tony Perkins, and many more speakers, for the 2010 Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC. Beginning on Friday, September 17th, through the 19th, the Summit will feature workshops and breakout sessions to equip and prepare grassroots activists to impact their communities. Top conservative public policy and opinion leaders will address the future of the nation. The Summit will be hosted at the historic Omni Shoreham Hotel and will be streamed live at http://www.afa.net/vvs. While the Summit is cosponsored by several organizations, the primary sponsor is Family Research Council.
Participants in the Values Voter Summit will also have the opportunity to participate in a 2012 Presidential Straw Poll, which is an early indicator of which candidates have the momentum among pro-family activists as we approach the 2012 elections, and, as a result, the straw poll will attract news coverage from the major news networks due to its importance in the early jockeying for the 2012 Presidential election. Attendees will have the opportunity to see various political leaders, one of whom may be the next President of the United States.
The Summit will kick off with a breakfast Friday morning co-hosted by Liberty Counsel and Liberty University, which is also a cosponsor of the Summit. Mat Staver will moderate a panel discussion during the breakfast to discuss the Millennial Generation. Serving on the panel will be Johnnie Moore, Vice President for Executive Projects at Liberty University and Joshua Straub, Ph.D. Director of Member Relations of American Association of Christian Counselors. Friday night, Liberty University will host a Town Hall interactive and listening session for youth entitled, “Voice of Young America.”
Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented: “People in America are ready for change. From young to old, people are concerned today about the direction of the country. Most people believe we are headed in the wrong direction. A movement that is multigenerational, multiracial, and multiethnic is building in America. Americans are looking for real hope, real change and real freedom. Politicians of whatever party who do not understand how the people feel will soon be looking for work outside of public service.”
