Google's cofounder and President of Technology, Sergey Brin, posted a statement Friday on the company blog against Proposition 8, the proposed constitutional amendment that would protect marriage in California as the union of one man and one woman. It is unfortunate that Google is taking the side of those who try to undermine traditional marriage.
Of course, google.com is not the only search engine on the internet.
One alternative is www.goodsearch.com, which gives half of its advertising revenue to charities designated by people using the free search engine. GoodSearch reports on its website that searchers have raised $18,000 for one nonprofit organization, the USPCA. You can use GoodSearch and select Liberty Counsel to receive a donation when you search. Searching is free, and advertisers are the only ones that pay GoodSearch.
On the GoodSearch.com website you will also find a link to the GoodShop online shopping mall which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause. Hundreds of stores, travel and other websites you may already use (like Walmart, Home Depot, Expedia, Travelocity, etc.) have teamed up with GoodShop, so that every time you place an order, you can designate money to go to Liberty Counsel.
Just go to www.goodsearch.com and enter Liberty Counsel as the charity you want to support. And, be sure to spread the word!
Please subscribe to our free Liberty Alert emails and let your entire e-mail list of family and friends know about Liberty Counsel and encourage them to recieve our news alerts.
Liberty Counsel does not charge clients for representation, so we depend on individuals, groups and churches that care about advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of human life and the traditional family. Liberty Counsel is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that accepts tax-deductible donations. Donate or order resources from the Liberty Counsel online store.
