Aaron Vaughn was a brave American who gave real meaning to Patrick Henry’s famous words.
Aaron wanted to be a Navy SEAL since he was a child. By 2011, he was living his dream. He was married with two children and had already completed numerous deployments around the world and combat deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. He was already a highly-decorated combat veteran with numerous awards.
Shortly after his daughter was born, this brave 30-year-old returned to Afghanistan. Then on August 6, 2011, Elite US Navy SEAL Team VI member Aaron Carson Vaughn made the ultimate sacrifice in service to America. He was in a Chinook helicopter that was shot down in Afghanistan, killing him and 29 other fearless American warriors.
Aaron’s life and death has inspired his mother, Karen Vaughn, to do everything she can to protect the legacy that has been handed down to us through the blood of the patriots. He was a Christian who was unafraid because of his faith.
As citizens of the greatest nation on earth, Karen believes we each have a responsibility to protect what's been handed down by the blood of patriots who have gone before us. America is the land of the free, because of the brave.
You can hear Karen Vaughn and other incredible speakers at the Women Impacting the Nation “For Such A Time As This” Conference in Orlando, Florida, on September 28-29.
