On the eve of Independence Day, when we celebrate the freedom our forefathers won for us at great sacrifice, it is a good time to reflect on the accomplishments of the year and to recommit our lives to protecting freedom in America. The fiscal year that concluded on June 30, 2012, was among the most momentous twelve months in our ministry’s history. Liberty Counsel’s Semi-Annual Partner’s Report, summarizing the hundreds of cases and other legal actions we undertook, is just a sampling of the actual volume of activity friends like you have helped us achieve. Besides being one of the nation’s first Christian public interest law firms, we are also one of the most aggressive.

With your help, Liberty Counsel has won many significant victories covering a wide range of issues over the past twelve months. For instance, we have successfully defended several victims of antireligious bigotry in our public schools, and with the help of tens of thousands of our faithful supporters, by the end of this summer we will have distributed our powerful Patriot’s Handbook of Religious Freedom in Public Schools to every public school in America – more than 100,000 schools!

Liberty Counsel filed the first private lawsuit against the ObamaCare power grab on March 23, 2010, the same day President Barack Obama signed it into law and exactly 235 years after Patrick Henry delivered his famous “Liberty or Death” speech. The Supreme Court left the ObamaCare decision in the hands of each one of you, the voting public. Liberty Counsel will continue to pursue the First Amendment Free Exercise argument regarding ObamaCare’s forced abortion funding.
