Orlando, FL – "Electrifying the Electorate" is a new voter education and registration project announced by Liberty Counsel today. Just 60 days remain in one of the most historic elections in United States history.

To advance this project, Liberty Counsel is promoting nonpartisan voter guides as a way to educate Americans about the presidential candidates' views on important issues facing this Nation. Liberty Counsel has reviewed, approved, and posted voter guides on its Web site at www.LC.org. These nonpartisan voter guides are approved for distribution by everyone, including churches and nonprofit organizations.

The voter guides give the positions of both presidential candidates on a wide variety of issues, including the human life amendment, traditional marriage, gun rights, business freedom, taxes, gay pride, the Iraq war, and education. The voter guides and resource materials regarding political activity of pastors, churches and nonprofit organizations are on Liberty Counsel’s special voter information page, where citizens can also register to vote.

Liberty Counsel is also giving pastors a free DVD entitled "Pastors, Churches and Political Activity." In this DVD, Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, addresses what pastors and church leaders can do regarding voter education, registration, and get-out-the-vote measures. Staver also addresses the laws regarding supporting or opposing candidates, as well as permissible activity with respect to legislation and voter initiatives, including supporting marriage amendments.

Mat Staver, who is attending the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, is available to comment on Liberty Counsel's "Electrifying the Electorate" Project and related issues, including the importance of evangelicals and values voters in the upcoming election.

Staver commented: "Liberty Counsel's 'Electrifying the Electorate' Project reflects the enthused attitude of values voters in this presidential campaign. I have not seen values voters as interested in the issues of any presidential race as I have this one. Liberty Counsel will educate pastors and church leaders concerning how they can address values, educate voters regarding the issues, and register them to vote. We are seeing history unfold before our eyes. Beyond the history that is being made, core moral values are at stake in this election that will affect the future of America."
