Orlando, FL - The Conservative Book Club has referred to Mathew D. Staver's eleventh book as the "most powerful and comprehensive handbook ever written on knowing - and protecting - your religious freedom." The 572 page book, Eternal Vigilance: Knowing and Protecting Your Religious Freedom, was released by Broadman & Holman in June, 2005.
Eternal Vigilance is a comprehensive handbook that covers virtually every conceivable religious liberty situation. The book covers such topics as the rights of students and teachers in public schools; prayers at graduations and public assemblies; parental authority over the education of their children; private school vouchers; display of religious symbols on public property; religious rights in the work-place; the right to picket, demonstrate and conduct parades; door-to-door witnessing; political activity of non-profit organizations; forced unionism; and the rights of churches and houses of worship to locate, operate or expand their ministries. The book covers many other constitutional principals and warns that if we lose our religious freedom, then we have lost America. Eternal Vigilance provides exhaustive information regarding our constitutional rights and presents practical ways to defend them.
The book contains endorsements of such conservatives like Dr. Jerry Falwell, Dr. D. James Kennedy, Dr. Tim LaHaye, author of the best-selling "Left Behind" series, and Peter Marshall. Dr. Falwell writes, "Eternal Vigilance should be in every home, school, church, library and government office. ... to maintain our freedom we must understand our rights. This book will equip you to remain eternally vigilant." Dr. Kennedy writes, "Few books on the subject of religious liberty are as clearly expressed and as 'user-friendly.'" Dr. LaHaye states that Eternal Vigilance "sets the record straight." Peter Marshall states that the book is "informative, clear, concise and well-documented. A useful manual and reference work for concerned Christians, students, political and public officials."
Eternal Vigilance was born out of Staver's extensive background as a constitutional litigator. He founded Liberty Counsel in 1989 and is the organization's President and General Counsel. He also serves as Vice-President of Law and Policy for Liberty University and is the Chairman of the Steering Committee for Liberty University School of Law.
