URGENT: Oral Arguments Tomorrow in SPLC Case

Oct 22, 2026

The SPLC and its client were not truthful to the court

Tomorrow, we fight back at the Second Circuit Court of Appeals

On March 31, 2025, the U.S. District Court of Vermont issued an opinion and summary judgment order clearing Liberty Counsel of any and all wrongdoing in the international kidnapping of Isabella Miller Jenkins.

Isabella is the biological daughter of Lisa Miller, who was once in a same-sex civil union with Janet Jenkins. Miller fled to another country with her daughter to avoid child custody sharing. Despite not having a single shred of evidence suggesting Liberty Counsel was in any way involved, Jenkins tried to demand Liberty Counsel pay her an outrageous sum of 200 billion dollars.

After 25 depositions and 186,000 pages, the court ruled there is not one shred of evidence against Liberty Counsel, but the SPLC, who represents Jenkins, is continuing this attack in an attempt to financially destroy us.

As the SPLC’s Mark Potok once admitted publicly, “I want to say plainly that our aim in life is to destroy these groups, to completely destroy them.”

The judge noted that Jenkins' testimony in 2016 was not the same as her deposition in 2025. In fact, multiple times throughout the order, the judge noted a number of disparities in Jenkins' testimony over the years.

The judge also noted that during the criminal trials of Isabella's biological mother, Lisa Miller, and the three men who assisted Miller in taking Isabella out of the country, each and every one of the defendants testified in depositions that Liberty Counsel was not aware of and had nothing to do with Miller fleeing with her daughter.

The SPLC and Janet Jenkins have known all along, without a shadow of a doubt, that Liberty Counsel is innocent.

The court now knows it too, as the March 31, 2025, summary judgment order in favor of Liberty Counsel chided Jenkins for her “insufficient” evidence, in addition to the disparities in her testimony.

But because the SPLC’s stated mission is to “destroy” organizations like ours by any means possible, it is now pursuing an appeal in an attempt to drag out this 10-year-old case, hoping to win on appeal.

We have spent over 11,000 hours defending ourselves, provided more than 186,000 documents, and sat for dozens of depositions, all to defend ourselves from the outrageous claims that both the SPLC and Janet Jenkins KNEW were untrue.

They did it to try to break us. But we will not be broken.

TOMORROW, Liberty Counsel will present oral arguments before a three-judge panel at the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

We need your prayers, as well as your direct financial support, to win this fight once and for all.

Your gift today will help defend Liberty Counsel, confront this ongoing attack, and protect the freedoms and values we all cherish. And thanks to our Challenge Grant, your gift's impact will be DOUBLED.
