They’re Trying to Destroy Liberty Counsel

Sep 18, 2026

Oral arguments in the SPLC’s malicious lawsuit against Liberty Counsel scheduled for October 23

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is refusing to accept defeat after a federal court ruled fully in Liberty Counsel’s favor.

Now, despite the court’s findings and the lack of evidence supporting its claims, the SPLC has appealed — forcing our legal team to spend enormous time and resources defending against a meritless attack.

At the same time, congressional hearings have brought renewed scrutiny to the SPLC, including testimony concerning its alleged financial and operational relationships with individuals and organizations it has publicly condemned.

Yet the SPLC continues to use litigation to target Liberty Counsel. We are fighting back — but we need you standing with us.

Will you make a gift today to help Liberty Counsel defeat this attack? Your gift can be DOUBLED through our special Challenge Grant.

For more than a decade, Liberty Counsel has defended itself against a lawsuit brought by the SPLC and its client, Janet Jenkins. The case demanded an extraordinary 200 billion dollars from Liberty Counsel.

After years of litigation, the federal court ruled in Liberty Counsel’s favor on every point.

But the fight did not end.

The SPLC filed an appeal. Our legal team responded with a 75-page Opposition Brief and has formally asked the court to impose sanctions over what we contend is misconduct in the SPLC’s appeal.

On October 23, 2026, I will present oral arguments to the Court of Appeals.

The stakes are enormous. Liberty Counsel has already invested:

  • 11,000 hours of legal work
  • 25 depositions
  • 186,000+ pages of evidence

And preparing for the appeal and oral arguments will require hundreds more additional hours.

Meanwhile, the SPLC has enormous financial resources and continues pursuing litigation against organizations it labels as “hate” groups — including Liberty Counsel, Moms for Liberty, the Dustin Inman Society, and the Family Research Council.

This is about more than one lawsuit.

It is about whether Christian and conservative organizations can continue defending religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, and the family without being buried under years of costly litigation.

The SPLC has the money to keep fighting.

We need the resources to keep fighting back.

And right now, your gift will be DOUBLED through our Challenge Grant.

Please make your most generous gift today. Your support will help provide the legal resources needed to defend Liberty Counsel and continue standing for Christians and constitutional rights across America.

Will you give now — and DOUBLE your impact while the Challenge Grant is available?

Thank you for standing with Liberty Counsel in this critical battle.
