Help Us Stop This Illegal Ballot Scheme

Virginia death cult’s illegal ballot scheme

The rule of law is on the line.

Last week, Liberty Counsel stood before a Virginia court to stop an unconstitutional ballot measure from appearing before voters in 2026.

This case isn't about politics — it's about whether government officials can ignore the very constitutional safeguards they are sworn to uphold. If those safeguards can be discarded whenever they're inconvenient, no constitutional protection is truly secure.

Will you help us defend election integrity and the rule of law?

Your gift today will help Liberty Counsel continue this critical legal battle to ensure Virginia lawmakers follow their state constitution instead of rewriting the rules whenever they choose. Your donation will strengthen our ability to defend constitutional government in court and will be DOUBLED by a special Challenge Grant.

Liberty Counsel represents Bedford County Supervisor Charla Bansley in a lawsuit challenging House Joint Resolution 1, a proposed amendment that would create a so-called "fundamental right to reproductive freedom" in the Virginia Constitution.

The lawsuit reveals that the Virginia House of Delegates failed to complete several constitutional requirements before advancing the amendment. The Virginia Constitution requires specific notice procedures, including distributing the proposed amendment to every circuit court clerk and making it available for public inspection before the next legislative election. According to the lawsuit, those required steps were never completed.

Rather than restart the amendment process as the constitution requires, state officials are attempting to move forward anyway. If successful, this could allow an amendment to appear on the ballot despite an alleged failure to follow the state constitution's mandatory procedures.

No matter where someone stands on any particular issue, every American should expect state government officials to obey their state's constitution. If constitutional procedures can simply be ignored, public confidence in our elections and our system of government is placed at risk.

That's why Liberty Counsel is asking the court to stop this amendment from appearing on the 2026 ballot until the constitutional process is properly followed.

Please make your most generous tax-deductible gift today. Your support allows Liberty Counsel to continue defending constitutional government, holding public officials accountable, and ensuring that the rule of law — not political expediency — prevails, especially when unborn lives are at stake.

A special Challenge Grant will DOUBLE the impact of every donation made today. Please give generously.

Thank you for standing with us as we defend constitutional integrity in the courtroom.
