For 2,000 years, Christians have boldly proclaimed the gospel in public places. But three separate cities in North and South Carolina — once considered the heart of the Bible belt — have harassed, fined, and even handcuffed preachers for publicly and peacefully proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ!

Now, in America, peaceful Christians are being punished for doing the same. This should not happen in the United States of America. 

Right now, Liberty Counsel is fighting for THREE separate street evangelists who were targeted simply for publicly sharing the gospel, and all three of these assaults on the First Amendment happened in the Carolinas!

1. One North Carolina preacher was kicked out of a public event on public property for handing out gospel tracts from the booth he had purchased at the event.  
2. Another preacher, this one in South Carolina, was repeatedly harassed by police for peacefully preaching on public sidewalks.
3. The third — a former addict who now shares his testimony of redemption near local bar districts — was handcuffed and fined for preaching without a permit in North Carolina. 

A permit to preach the gospel? 

Since when does the government decide where Christians may speak about Jesus Christ? 

These men were not violent. They were not threatening anyone. They were peacefully sharing their faith, praying with people, and offering hope.

Yet city officials treated them like criminals.

If government officials can silence Christians on public streets today, what freedoms will they attack tomorrow?
