Liberty Counsel now must sue to enforce the law

About 86 cities, counties, and states nationwide still BAN Christian change counseling. That number was 87, until the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled Colorado’s Christian counseling ban unconstitutional.

But despite the ruling, the 86 remaining jurisdictions HAVE NOT repealed their Christian counseling bans. And, even Colorado, which lost at the Supreme Court, just passed a new law attacking Christian counselors.

Now we have to sue to force lawless governments to restore Christian the First Amendment rights of counselors and clients. If we don’t, the recent SCOTUS win in Chiles v. Salazar will mean nothing.

On March 31, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Chiles v. Salazar, that Colorado’s ban on Christian counseling for gender confusion was unconstitutional.

But even in the face of this decision, the brazen Colorado legislature just passed a law in defiance of the Supreme Court. And the other 86 cities, counties, and states with Christian counseling bans on the books are not repealing them. They are daring us to sue them — and we will. That is why we need your help.

This isn’t the first time anti-Christian governments tried to ignore the law and SCOTUS. In 2001, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that public schools cannot ban Child Evangelism Fellowship’s (CEF) Good News after-school Bible clubs. Yet in the 25 years since, Liberty Counsel has had to force more than 400 schools to comply with the law.

In fact, we just won cases against school districts in California, Illinois, Hawaii, and Rhode Island, and we are fighting additional lawsuits in New Mexico, Nebraska, New Jersey, another Illinois school district, and three separate additional California school districts.

And it won’t be the last time Liberty Counsel FORCES anti-Christian government entities to OBEY the LAW!

Christian counseling has been PROVEN to be THE most effective therapy for gender dysphoria. Even the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) agreed with this monumental fact in its peer-reviewed gender dysphoria report published earlier this year.

That is why so many of these LGBTQ leftist states want Christian counseling banned — because lies cannot survive under the light of truth.

Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell is openly defiant, declaring she will “continue using every tool available to stand firmly against” the Supreme Court ruling.

In New York, the pro-LGBTQ New York Mental Health Counselors Association brags on its website that “The Supreme Court’s decision in Chiles v. Salazar does not affect New York State’s existing prohibition.”

STOP the bans on Christian counseling!

California, Illinois, Michigan, Delaware, Vermont, Maine and all the 24 ban states have refused to drop their bans. The same is proving true of the more than 50 cities and counties, like Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Appleton, WI, which have also so far refused to overturn their bans.

So, just like we have done in defending CEF’s Good News Clubs over the last 25 years, we must defend Christian counselors and clients.
