War between LGBTQ and the Bible playing out in public schools
There’s a war going on in our public schools.
The battle lines have been drawn between woke public school administrators pushing LGBTQ indoctrination on children and Christians sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with children.
Liberty Counsel just won two cases where public school administrators unlawfully tried to ban after-school Bible clubs. But our docket is rapidly filling with more cases, because too many public schools are apparently run by anti-Christian administrators who are intent on breaking the law to “transition” America’s children away from Christ.
Help us keep fighting by supporting our legal fund! Every gift will be DOUBLED by a special Challenge Grant.
Something extraordinary is happening in America. For the first time in modern history, young people are attending church more faithfully than older generations, according to Barna Group.
As of 2025, Gen Z and millennials now attend church more regularly than Gen X, boomers, and even many elderly Americans. In a culture saturated with secularism, anti-Christian hostility, and moral confusion, this trend is nothing short of remarkable.
But woke LGBTQ public school officials are doing their very best to stop this trend — because they know as well as we do that the 4-14 window is the most formative time in a child’s life.
So, they’re banning after-school Bible clubs, like our client Child Evangelism Fellowship’s (CEF) Good News Clubs, and promoting “LGBTQ Pride” groups as well as trans grooming clubs.
For more than 25 years, Liberty Counsel has defended CEF’s Good News Clubs against unlawful attacks from anti-Christian public school officials determined to silence the gospel.
Because of your faithful support, we have fought for the rights of Christian children and parents in school districts across America — and we have NEVER lost a Good News Club case. Those victories matter.
The children who attended these after-school Bible clubs years ago are now young adults. They are today’s churchgoing Gen Z and millennials — a rising generation that is rediscovering faith in Jesus Christ.
But now anti-God activists and “woke” school administrators are trying to stop this movement cold.
The First Amendment prevents public schools from discriminating against or banning after-school Bible clubs. Liberty Counsel has won more than 400 cases representing CEF — including our most recent wins last week in California and Illinois — because the law is on our side. In fact, Liberty Counsel helped shape the law that will last for generations.
But woke school administrators REFUSE to follow the law!
As a result, we are now battling even more school districts in New Mexico, New York, Nebraska, New Jersey, and California.
Save a generation by defending the gospel with your gift today.
The stakes could not be higher. Research consistently shows that childhood is the most important spiritual formation period in a person’s life. Studies reveal that nearly 85% of Christians make their first commitment to Christ before age 14.
Barna Group’s research also confirms that a child’s moral foundation is largely established by age 9.
That is exactly why CEF’s Good News Clubs are so powerful — and why opponents of Christianity are so desperate to shut them down. These clubs bring the gospel directly into the critical “4-to-14 window,” when hearts and minds are most open to biblical truth.
Scripture says: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
We are witnessing the truth of that promise unfold before our eyes.
For years, faithful Christians like you have prayed for revival in America. Now we are seeing signs of a new generation turning back to God. But this momentum must be defended.
If radical school officials succeed in banning Good News Clubs, countless children may never hear the gospel during the most formative years of their lives. Please help us stop these unconstitutional attacks.
Make your most generous tax-deductible gift today and a special Challenge Grant will match your gift — and DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT.
Together, we can keep the Good News alive for the next generation.
