LA Thinks Christianity Is A Mental Illness

Los Angeles demands Christian employee get mental health counseling to overcome Biblical beliefs

Eric Batman faithfully served Los Angeles County for 24 years, yet when he respectfully asked for a reasonable religious accommodation so that he would not be forced to participate in LGBTQ “Pride” events, the government refused — and instead treated his Christian beliefs as a problem needing “correction” via mental health counseling!

Employers MAY NOT force employees into therapy to “overcome” their religious beliefs! Support our legal fund defending Eric today! Right now, every donation is DOUBLED, making it the most impactful moment to stand with Eric and defend the freedom of conscience for all.

Eric Batman devoted nearly a quarter century of his life to serving the people of Los Angeles County.

As a civil engineer, he helped protect neighborhoods from flooding, ensured critical infrastructure functioned safely, and earned the trust of his colleagues and supervisors. His career was defined by professionalism, competence, and quiet faithfulness.

Then Los Angeles County demanded something Eric could not give.

Eric was told his Christian beliefs were a problem.

When county officials required employees to promote and participate in Pride Month activities, Eric faced a direct conflict with his sincerely held Christian beliefs. He did not protest. He did not criticize others. He didn’t make a scene.

Eric simply asked for what federal law guarantees: a reasonable religious accommodation.

His request was modest and workable: permission to work remotely for part of June, something he had done successfully before and something the county routinely allows for other religious observances, namely Muslims ... but apparently, not for Christians.

Los Angeles County refused Eric’s request.

Instead of accommodating Eric, they targeted him.

Defend Eric Batman today!

Officials told Eric he should seek mental health counseling to address his religious objections to participating in the LGBTQ agenda — treating his Christian faith as something that needed correction and re-education.

After 24 years of loyal public service, Eric learned a hard truth: in Los Angeles, religious freedom was optional.

That’s why Liberty Counsel is fighting back.

We’ve filed a federal lawsuit to defend Eric’s constitutional and civil rights — and to stop government employers from conditioning a person’s job on betraying their faith.

This case matters far beyond one man.

If the government can force Christians into “mental health counseling” for their religious beliefs, then we have no religious freedom at all.

If faith can be treated as a defect instead of a protected right, then religious liberty becomes nothing more than words on paper.

Eric is up against Los Angeles' near bottomless coffers.

He relies on Americans like you

Right now, a Challenge Grant will DOUBLE your gift, dollar for dollar, to support this critical legal battle.

Your generosity helps ensure that no Christian is ever forced into mental health counseling over their Biblical beliefs.

Thank you for standing for fairness, faith, and equal treatment under the law.
