An Ohio YMCA has special showers for minor girls, ostensibly to protect these young ladies from predators.

But when one of the Y’s adult male employees donned a woman’s bathing suit that barely covered his genitals, refused to hide his visible arousal around the girls, and then invaded the girls’ showers, the Y refused to remove him.

Instead, the Y told the girls he sexually harassed that they had to move because this adult man apparently “identifies” as a teenage girl.

Like many teenagers, our client, a 15-year-old girl, signed up for lifeguard training at her local YMCA. She was excited to learn lifesaving skills and earn a job helping others stay safe in the water.

But instead of encouragement and protection, she encountered something no young girl should ever face at all, let alone on a daily basis in class or the showers — a visibly aroused adult man.

A 25-year-old biological MALE YMCA EMPLOYEE donned a women’s bathing suit that barely covered his male parts and began participating in the lifeguard training sessions. Somehow, he always managed to maneuver his way to the smallest of the girls. Day after day at the pool, he made no effort to hide his physical arousal around the girls, and no other YMCA employee removed him from the girls’ presence despite his obvious arousal. 

Then he joined the girls in the children’s showers.

This YMCA has special showers reserved for girls under 18 — ostensibly to keep those girls safe from predators. After swim practice, the students went to the locker room reserved for girls under 18. Inside was an open shower area with several showerheads close together. While the girls rinsed off after training, the adult man entered the girls’ locker room and ogled them for a while — before getting into the showers with them.

Despite other open showers, he deliberately positioned himself right next to our client, one of the smallest girls in the class. Then he leaned under her shower head, and stared into her eyes and complimented her hair as he caressed himself.

Frightened, she and the other girls ran out of the showers and hid in bathroom stalls to change. When they emerged, he was still in their locker room, grinning and parading around in a towel. As our client tried to flee, he tried to corner her and rub his body against hers.

When this brave teenager reported what happened, she expected the adults in charge to protect her and the other girls. Instead, the YMCA staff told this 15-year-old girl that she should use a different restroom if the MAN in the children’s showers made her feel uncomfortable!

Despite complaints from the girls and their families, the YMCA refused to remove this adult man because he “identifies” as a “trans-woman.”

This is DEEPLY DANGEROUS, and this teen girl — who simply wanted to learn how to save lives — was left feeling unsafe and ignored.

Thankfully, she is not facing this alone.
