Obergefell Set the Stage for Persecution

By erasing gender from a gender-based relationship, five lawyers set the stage to punish, persecute, silence, and yes, even violence against Christians for believing God created only male and female. 

The LGBTQ lobby wants to silence anyone who disagrees. Christians around the country have lost their jobs and businesses.

Kim Davis is being sued into bankruptcy — all because five lawyers wanted to appease what has become a rabid movement intent on silencing those whose religious beliefs contradict the LGBTQ agenda. And when they cannot silence us, some even want to kill us.

In a matter of weeks, the U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether to hear our case Davis v. Ermold and finally overturn the wrongful Obergefell decision that gave rise to this vicious movement.

Last Wednesday afternoon, Charlie Kirk was assassinated for his scientific and biblical stance on gender. Charlie had just been asked a question about the number of mass shootings and violence committed by trans individuals. A bullet silenced him before he could finish his reply.  

And now we are told that the bullet that took Charlie’s life, as well as the rifle used in the shooting, were inscribed with pro-transgender messages.

Charlie’s assassination, the attempt to bankrupt Kim, and the dozens of other cases in which Liberty Counsel is defending Christians under attack by the “queer” movement PROVES that the LGBTQ doesn’t want equality — they want Christians silenced.

Obergefell is the forge that has produced the weapons of LGBTQ attack, and we must tear it down. 

By removing gender from a historically gender-based relationship, the activist Obergefell Court erased the meaning of gender. This, in turn, led to the normalization of transgenderism, and the violence that has ensued against those who refuse the lie.   

“[S]ome Republicans now claim we can separate the fight against transgenderism from the fight against gay marriage,” says conservative commentator Michael Horowitz. “They are wrong.”

Horowitz goes on to note that Obergefell enshrined “the very gender-bending myth conservatives claim to oppose — the idea that man and woman, mother and father, are interchangeable."

As the direct result of Obergefell’s destruction of gender, we now have:

• Men demanding to use women’s bathrooms.
• Men stealing women’s scholarships and sports titles.
• Businesses bankrupted for refusing to participate in genderless marriages.
• Christians sued into bankruptcy for refusing to put their name on something God forbids.
• And a young husband, father, and devoted Christian assassinated for daring to speak the scientific fact that there are only two genders.

STOP the MADNESS! Overturn Obergefell!

The Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade, said that a right must be “deeply rooted in the Nation’s history and tradition.”

Same-sex marriage has NEVER been enshrined in the Constitution or historical law. In fact, as with abortion, just the opposite is true. For thousands of years of humanity and hundreds of years of legal precedent, marriage has always been defined as an act between one man and one woman.

But thanks to Obergefell, all of human history has been upended, and an invented “right” is being used to persecute, silence, and yes, even murder Christians who have a genuine, legal, and constitutional right to believe God created only two genders, man and woman.

Our petition asks the High Court to overturn the wrongful lower court decision that seeks to bankrupt Kim Davis for daring to use her state, federal, and constitutional right to prevent her name from being used as the officiating seal on an act her religion forbids.

If Christians can be personally sued for using their religious freedom rights, then America has no religious freedom at all.

But just as importantly, we are asking the High Court to overturn the Obergefell opinion that has been used to destroy gender as well as religious freedom.

• Christian bakers will be forced to bake same s*x wedding cakes.

• Christian pastors and churches will be forced to host same s*x weddings.
• Christian institutions will be forced to change their doctrine. 
• And outspoken Christians will be charged with “hate crimes” for merely repeating what the Bible says about gender.
