Earlier this year, Florida became one of the safest places in the nation to be an unborn child. Florida’s Heartbeat Bill went into effect May 1, 2024. The measure makes it a crime to kill an unborn child after six weeks’ gestation – the time at which a child’s heart starts beating. 

A group funded by Planned Parenthood, ACLU, and George Soros, Floridians Protecting Freedom (FPF), has been running deceptive ads that put women in extreme danger. How dangerous? Two women nearly died as a result of the abortionists’ deceptive campaign ... and FPF even had the gall to spotlight one of these women in their ads. 

This woman nearly DIED because of abortion proponents’ LIES. 

Anya Cook’s water broke too early in her pregnancy. Her unborn child would not survive. Instead of receiving emergency medical care, Anya delivered her stillborn child in a public bathroom, and Anya nearly bled to death — because the pro-abortionists' propaganda misled her into believing she would not receive care.  

Another deceptive FPF ad showcases abortionist Dr. Jerry Goodman, OB/GYN. Goodman claims in the ad that Florida’s Heartbeat Law means that he must tell mothers, “I can’t help,” if a child dies in the mother’s womb or the mother’s life is in danger. Goodman goes on to claim that “Florida’s extreme abortion ban ties my hands and puts lives at risk,” and that he could “go to prison” if he tries to help. 

But the abortionist whose profession contradicts his very own name is telling a bald-faced lie, trying to convince people to vote for a ballot measure that will certainly boost his abortion business. 

To counter these lies, the state of Florida was forced to take action in order to defeat the abortionists’ lies and protect the lives of women like Anya.

On Sept. 19, 2024, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration and the Florida Health Department sent all licensed medical providers — including Dr. Goodman — an alert to “address misinformation currently being spread concerning Florida’s abortion laws.” 

“The law is clear,” read the directive, thus countering these abortion lies.

The guidance added that failure to provide lifesaving treatment to pregnant patients constitutes “malpractice” and that “regulatory action” will be taken against such providers.

Despite clear guidance from the state, FPF and Dr. Goodman continue running their outrageously false ads. 

To further counter the abortion industry’s continued deceit, the State of Florida began running its own ad, featuring the Florida surgeon general informing patients that any doctor who refuses to offer emergency pregnancy care for the life of a mother was committing a crime. 

But FPF and Dr. Goodman CONTINUE their deadly lies in print and video, putting yet more women like Anya in danger. 

The pro-abortionists are lying elsewhere as well, trying to convince unsuspecting women that “miscarriages” are “spontaneous abortions” and that therefore no medical help will be available to them unless Amendment 4 is passed. Once again, the state had to intervene, reminding abortionists and informing patients that “a miscarriage is not an abortion.”
