Urgent Prayer for Threats Against Kim Davis

Jul 30, 2024

Kim Davis and Liberty Counsel need your prayers for protection. Hateful LGBTQ adherents are back at it with death threats. Just one example reveals the evil in the hearts of those people:

Kim’s husband answered a phone call. The angry caller threatened he would tie up Kim’s husband while he raped Kim. Then he would burn down the house with the two of them still inside.

Kim Davis and Liberty Counsel have received many threats, and those threats have ramped up again after we filed our legal brief with the Court of Appeals. Kim’s husband, Joe, has had to run trespassers off their property.

Anyone who stands up to the hateful agenda of the LGBTQ Mafia is demonized. All because the unhinged LGBTQ left will not tolerate religious freedom and wants to destroy anyone who disagrees.

Help us defend Kim Davis today. DOUBLE YOUR GIFT’S IMPACT THROUGH OUR CHALLENGE GRANT.

When they say “coexist,” they mean that everyone must not only tolerate their wicked whims, but also accept and promote those whims ... or be marginalized or eliminated.

And as the continuing death threats against Kim and our Liberty Counsel staff members prove, these insane factions don’t just want us to be silent — they want us dead.

In 2015, Kim, as a born-again Christian, simply could not affix her name to a legal document that contravened God’s design for marriage. Kim fought for, and eventually won, religious accommodation rights for all Kentucky officials. But not before a judge threw her in jail for six days.

That same civil suit brought against Kim solely to mock and force her to violate her religious convictions is now also trying to bankrupt her for daring to win and use those religious freedom rights.

Plaintiff David Ermold told GQ magazine that he had never even discussed marriage with his boyfriend before Kim’s case hit the news. He then brought this frivolous lawsuit against her. Kim has now been slapped with 360,000 dollars in judgments and fines, despite the religious accommodation Kim fought to achieve for all should also protect her.

Religious freedom means nothing if a person can be sued into bankruptcy for using those rights.

Liberty Counsel is fighting to restore TRUE religious freedom ... and our case has the potential to do even more.

In 2020, in response to one of our filings, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas wrote: “Since Obergefell, parties have continually attempted to label people of good will as bigots merely for refusing to alter their religious beliefs in the wake of prevailing orthodoxy.”

Last week, Liberty Counsel filed our legal brief on Kim’s behalf with the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Scores of media have picked up the legal filing, and this case quickly caught the attention of Kamala Harris who threw out this red meat to her intolerant followers.

What caught the attention of the media and Kamala Harris was that our case has an excellent chance of overturning something much greater than the verdict: the 2015 Obergerfell opinion in which an activist Court erroneously ruled in favor of same sex “marriage.”

The argument in our brief references a parallel argument articulated in the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. The activist High Court at the time was wrong when Roe was decided and it is wrong today because it was based entirely on the “legal fiction” of “substantive” due process, which lacks any basis in the Constitution. The same is true with the Obergerfell opinion. And three of the five Justices are no longer on the Court. Our goal is to overturn this case.

Some Supreme Court Justices appear to agree with us ... and that is why the rabid LGBTQ is terrified.

In a 2020 response to a Liberty Counsel filing, Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito wrote, “This petition implicates important questions about the scope of our decision in Obergefell.”

In Justice Thomas’ concurring opinion in Dobbs, he noted that the “substantive” due process issues the Court rejected in the abortion case may also apply to the Obergefell decision. Justices Thomas, Alito, and Roberts strongly dissented in Obergefell.

We have structured our case to not only free Kim from the LGBTQ’s attempts to bankrupt her for her faith, but to also advance religious freedom and overturn Obergerfell.

God willing, and with your help, we WILL restore religious freedom and overturn Obergerfell.

But the threats against Kim and our staff highlight another case we are involved with as well — one involving the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). As you know, the SPLC has declared Liberty Counsel to be a “hate group.” Their inflammatory and libelous lies have led to more death threats against our ministry than I can count.

The SPLC has demonized Kim Davis in their “Hatewatch Headlines” no less than 54 times. And now Kim’s faithful husband, Joe, wonders if the SPLC’s deranged adherents will further attack his family.

As you can see, we are fighting the same evil on multiple fronts. We need your help to ensure victory. Please, support our legal fund today. When you do, a special Challenge Grant will DOUBLE the impact of your donation. And you can sign up for recurring monthly gifts! Please give generously. Kim, her family, and our staff members are counting on you.

Finally, as believers, we know the power of prayer. Please be in regular prayer for the safety of all involved. Please pray also that our Lord, who can heal all things, will reach into the hearts of the deranged and bring them into the body of Christ.
