Lt. Col. (Ret) Dr. Pete Chambers, and his service dog “GI Joe,” met this week with members of the Senate about the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and an amendment to repeal Joe Biden’s unlawful shot mandate. The meetings were coordinated by our Senior Counsel of Governmental Affairs.
Liberty Counsel has been working with legislators since last year to stop Biden’s abusive mandate. We have been the leading voice (often the only voice) on Capitol Hill speaking on this issue. Repealing this mandate is a good start but not nearly enough.
In our litigation, Biden’s Department of Defense (DOD) went on record that merely requesting religious accommodation is enough to punish service members. This is outrageous. These brave heroes swear an oath to defend the Constitution and the laws of the land. Surely, it is not punishable to ask for the rights afforded by those laws!
Meanwhile, we are preparing for trial in our class action case on behalf of the Marines against Biden’s demands and punishments. I will introduce you to some of our military plaintiffs today. — Mat
Act before midnight on New Year’s Eve in your time zone to have a special MILLION-DOLLAR CHALLENGE GRANT double the impact of your donation. Our nation’s heroes need YOU. Please give generously today.

Every day, Liberty Counsel is hard at work protecting the men and women of the U.S. military from Biden’s twisted bid to rid the ranks of anyone who subscribes to a higher authority than him.
I just returned from the Court of Appeals in Atlanta where I presented oral argument before a panel of three judges. And we return to court in January where we will again face off against Biden’s DOD. The shot mandates are abusive and are harming military members. This has been an intense year.
Thankfully, a special Million-Dollar Challenge Grant will double the impact of every donation given between now and December 31, midnight, in your time zone!
Zaid* is a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps who opposes abortion. Captain Zaid wants to continue serving in the Corps, so he testified in a sworn statement that his Islamic religious beliefs forbid abortion. He also opposes the use of aborted fetal cells used in the testing and/or development of all the COVID shots.
Emergency relief came hours before discipline. . .
Hours before Zaid would face discipline, Judge Steven Merryday ordered that “the defendants are temporarily enjoined (1) from enforcing against USMC Captain any order or regulation requiring COVID-19 vaccination and (2) from any retaliatory action as a result of, or arising from, USMC Captain’s requesting a religious accommodation, appealing the denial of a request for a religious accommodation, or pursuing this action or any other action for relief under RFRA (Religious Freedom Restoration Act) or the First Amendment.”
Levi* is an observant Jew who believes abortion is a heinous crime against God’s design. He is one of more than 900 service members we are helping.
Joleen* is a Catholic who believes that abortion “constitutes a grave moral disorder, since it is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being.”
Mary* was raised an atheist but became an evangelical Christian after suffering a traumatic rape and ensuing abortion. Her faith and harrowing personal experience taught her that abortion is a soul-crushing evil.
Ted* belongs to a small nondenominational church that also forbids abortion. He joins the tens of thousands facing discipline for his religious convictions.
Despite coming from different religious backgrounds and faiths, these service members all agree that abortion is a sin, and they will not defile their bodies with these shots that used aborted fetal cells in testing and/or development.
And despite their differences in doctrine, each of these soldiers has a constitutionally protected, federally codified RIGHT to religious freedom.
WE WILL NOT ALLOW JOE BIDEN TO PURGE THE MILITARY OF CHRISTIANS AND PEOPLE OF FAITH.
Each of these brave men and women met with their respective chaplains who confirmed their religious beliefs are sincere, submitted their religious accommodation requests, received “rubber stamp” denials and now face discharge and discipline.
During his confirmation hearing in March 2021, Biden’s secretary of defense, Lloyd Austin, said he would “purge” the military. Identifying the religious faithful and discharging them under Biden’s shot mandate is apparently how he plans to “purge” them.
I weep for our military members and their families. I wish I could convey the stress they face daily and the abuse inflicted against them. We are more committed than ever to defending the defenders of our freedom. We will not rest until we obtain justice.
Religious freedom is an inalienable right.
Help us STOP JOE BIDEN’s RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION against Faithful Military Members!
We are working around the clock to save the lives and livelihoods of military members and their families, health care workers and employees being forced to choose between serving God or bowing to Joe Biden and his tyrannical administration.
And we continue to defend religious freedom through several other important cases before state and federal courts as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.
The volume of our legal work under this tyrannical administration is growing at an alarming pace. We need YOUR help to keep religious freedom free. To help keep us fighting for religious freedom, please consider making a recurring monthly gift.
Any gift between now and midnight on New Year’s Eve in your time zone will be DOUBLED by our special MILLION-DOLLAR CHALLENGE GRANT. Our nation’s heroes need YOU. Please give generously today.
If tyranny prevails in the U.S. military, it will not be long before we all lose our precious freedom.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
