Sen. Chuck Schumer filed for cloture Monday night, meaning the vote could happen as early as TOMORROW on a bill that eliminates gender in federal law. If HR 8404, the so-called Respect for Marriage Act, passes, gender will be irrelevant, not only in marriage, but also in any aspect of American life. The deadly trans agenda being pushed on our children is now seeking to force its delusions on us all.
If HR 8404 passes, there will not be a thing churches, pastors, parents and even medical professionals can do to stop proponents of the trans agenda from mutilating our children. THIS VOTE WILL BE VERY CLOSE!
Today you will hear from Daisy, whose therapist was afraid to counsel her against trans therapy because she was afraid she would lose her license.
Liberty Counsel is fighting on two fronts for our children—in Congress against the dangerous HR 8404 legislation as well as in the courts, defending the right for Christian counselors to offer and their clients to receive counseling for gender dysphoria and unwanted same-sex attraction. Read on to learn just what is at stake. — Mat

Let’s make it absolutely clear to every member of the U.S. Senate—HANDS OFF OUR KIDS! VOTE NO on HR 8404!

Daisy was a quiet, slim tomboy who just did not seem to fit in. She spent all her time on the internet, using social media and YouTube as an escape so she could just forget about real life. Daisy preferred jeans and sweatshirts to glitter and skirts. The kids at school began calling her a lesbian.
Unsupervised access to the internet led young Daisy to pornography, subconsciously warping her view of women. “To be 14 years old and seeing those videos has a much greater psychological effect than porn did maybe 20 or 30 years ago, when it was just like naked girls in a magazine,” she says.
“Women were portrayed as objects for sexual pleasure that can be hit and choked, and that’s supposed to be sexy?”
When Daisy reached high school and girls began dressing more seductively, she was further repelled by womanhood. “I just had a very unhealthy image of what it meant to be a girl and what it meant to be a woman.”
Daisy found a sense of community in a school Gay Straight Alliance group and in online LGBT forums. The people seemed accepting and understanding. They told her that “transitioning is the only way to cure gender dysphoric feelings, and if you don’t, then you might kill yourself,” Daisy says.
They also told her that if her parents did not agree with her decisions, the LGBTQ members would “become her new Mom.”
Daisy’s parents began sending her to a psychiatrist. But while Daisy says it was clear that the psychiatrist did not think transitioning was wise, the psychiatrist also did not try to dissuade her from “transitioning” into a man, out of fear of losing her license.
When Daisy turned 18, she began taking testosterone and dating bisexual men.
“I’m straight,” she said. “I’ve pretty much always been straight. There was a time when I thought maybe I’m bisexual … but I’ve always been attracted to men. So, when I was identifying as a trans guy, I was identifying also as a gay trans guy. It’s very confusing.”
While dating a bisexual man, Daisy decided to have her breasts removed. But shortly after her scars healed, she found herself even more depressed.
“I was chasing something that was just completely unattainable, like ‘I’m never going to be male,’” she says. “It just became really clear to me towards the end of the transition, and that I was never going to be satisfied with what I had done.”
Daisy began to realize that transgender ideology is a scam. “The idea that one can have this innate, unchanging gender essence that’s metaphysical but is also fluid, and it can change, just doesn’t make sense,” Daisy says now. “The more I think about the ideology, the less and less it makes sense.”
Daisy stopped taking testosterone and decided to “detransition” back into living as the biological woman she was. But the LGBTQ community that had once embraced her not only abandoned but vilified her. Detransitioners like Daisy and anyone who opposes the LGBTQ agenda are labeled as “bigots” with “internalized trans-phobia.”
This silencing of opposition to the LGBTQ agenda is nothing new. In fact, therapists like Daisy’s have good reason to be afraid of the LGBTQ “mafia.” Liberty Counsel has been fighting it for years.
In 2012, when California banned Christian counseling for gender dysphoria and unwanted sexual desires, Liberty Counsel fought for our children. We fought again in 2013 when New Jersey passed similar laws. And this summer, our fight went to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Otto et al. v. City of Boca Raton, FL, et al., where Liberty Counsel achieved a resounding win.
The court struck down ordinances that prohibited licensed counselors from providing counsel to minors who desperately desire to conform their attractions, behaviors and gender identities with their sincerely held religious beliefs.
As a result of our Otto case, counselors in Florida, Georgia and Alabama are free to help their minor clients, and these children are free to seek and receive the lifesaving therapy they need.
But if the radical, LGBTQ-compliant members in Congress get their way, our win will be meaningless. The so-called Respect for Marriage Act is now poised for a vote in the Senate THIS WEEK.
The same-sex marriage bill will establish a public policy that goes far beyond marriage. It will destroy the concept of gender. It will harm people, especially our youth.
The Senate will vote THIS WEEK. The vote is very close—too close. It could pass if we remain silent. That would be a tragedy.
As you do, please donate to our legal fund. Our staff and legal team battle in courtrooms across America and before the U.S. Supreme Court, fighting for religious liberty, the right to life and the natural family.

By the way, there was a happy ending for Daisy. She married a man who always makes her feel feminine and loved. She is also now the proud mother of a brand-new baby boy!
