Christine didn’t want to be a girl. In her young mind, to be a girl was weak, vulnerable and dangerous. Christine wrestled with her gender for nearly two decades before she made peace with the body God gave her.
But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to pass H.Res. 1209, the so-called “Transgender Bill of Rights.” This atrocious measure seeks to put a nationwide BAN on Christian counseling for those struggling with gender confusion and unwanted same-sex desires.
Liberty Counsel has already defeated these shockingly unlawful bans in court. But if Pelosi gets her way, our work will not matter. That is because girls like Christine will be forbidden from receiving the lifesaving counsel that has saved so many from Alfred Kinsey-inspired perversions warping our children’s brains, maiming their bodies and driving them to suicide.
Help us defend counselors and their clients. And please take a moment right now to fax Congress. Demand they VOTE NO on H.Res. 1209. Then read Christine’s story and an update on our “change counsel” cases. — Mat

“I know what it's like to not be at peace with my gender,” says Christine. “I felt that way for the first two decades of my life.”
In fact, Christine hated her gender so much that she wanted to be a boy. “I believed that God made a mistake when He made me a girl.” Christine joined the boys' baseball team. In retrospect, she says the choice was natural, considering her upbringing.
“I believed that women were weak,” says Christine, “because I came from a home where there was domestic violence from my father to my mother and from my older brother to me.”
She did not want to be weak ...
Instead, she put a “chip on her shoulder” and set out to prove that she was as tough as any boy. Perhaps then no one would hurt her.
At 9 years old, Christine chose to play catcher. “I wanted to wear all that extra equipment because at the core, I simply wanted protection,” she says. “Underneath my helmet, face guard, chest pad, and shin guards was just a little girl who didn't want to get hurt anymore.”
Thankfully, Christine was not raised in the modern social landscape that actively encourages children to mutilate their bodies and deny basic biology. Christine never had to wrestle with cross-sex hormones or the double mastectomies now being pushed on girls by therapists enamored by the child sexualization claims of Indiana University sex “researcher” and child rape chronicler Alfred Kinsey.
It took years, but Christine’s deep emotional scars and the ensuing hatred of her gender were healed with God’s grace and love. Now she speaks out in hopes of saving children from the fate she would have faced if she were 16 all over again.
“With all the talk about transitioning and de-transitioning these days, my hope and prayer is that my journey to wholeness as a woman can help those who may be confused about their gender,” says Christine. She wants to “help children who are defenseless against all the propaganda out there telling them they are in the wrong body.” Christine is in a unique position to help because, she says, “I used to believe that, too.”
“Today I love being a woman,” she says. “I believe God meant my gender to be a blessing and not a burden. I want to help others to be at peace with their gender.”
But if Nancy Pelosi gets her way, Christine will not be allowed to help children escape the same self-hatred she faced as a young woman … and neither will Christian counselors.
H.Res. 1209 will BAN Christian counseling for persons struggling with gender confusion and unwanted sexual desires. Worse yet, the measure will prevent parents, pastors, churches, mental health counselors, medical doctors and even surgeons from discouraging dangerous cross-sex hormone treatments and transgender body mutilation.
If H.Res. 1209 passes, abused children like Christine will remain imprisoned by an agenda designed to destroy God’s magnificent design.
Liberty Counsel is fighting for our children in court ...
We have been at the forefront of the fight for counselors and clients. In 2012, when California banned counseling for gender confusion and unwanted same-sex attractions or behaviors, Liberty Counsel fought for our children. We fought again in 2013 when New Jersey passed similar laws. And this summer, our fight went to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Otto et al. v. City of Boca Raton, FL et al., where we achieved a resounding win!
The Court struck down ordinances that prohibited licensed counselors from providing counsel to minors who desperately desire to conform their attractions, behaviors and gender identities with their religious beliefs.
As a result of our Otto case, counselors in Florida, Georgia and Alabama are free to help their minor clients, and these children are free to seek and receive the lifesaving therapy they need!
But there is still much work to be done. The Otto ruling only affects the three states mentioned above. Alfred Kinsey’s sick aim to lock children into gender-bending emotional agony persists like a cancer on our culture.
Liberty Counsel continues to defend counselors, but now we are also forced to fight radicals in Congress who want to ban this lifesaving counseling nationwide.
May God bless you for defending His precious children!
