The Senate votes tomorrow on whether to call additional witnesses in the sham impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. And the outcome is still unknown.
If just four GOP senators betray the president and vote with Democrats, that means this partisan witch hunt will go on for weeks and likely months.
At least three Republicans senators have indicated they might side with the Democrats—Mitt Romney (UT), Susan Collins (ME) and Lisa Murkowski (AK).
Last night, the Senate GOP’s chief vote counter, Sen. John Thune, confessed he didn’t know how waffling GOP senators might vote.
"It's still uncertain," he told reporters.
And that’s why I’m asking you to act now. Send your fax to a targeted list of moderate Republican senators who could prolong this sham impeachment if they break ranks tomorrow.
Don’t let that happen. It’s time to bring this charade to an end!
Tell wavering Senate Republicans to end this partisan and unconstitutional attack on President Trump!
And I’ve got good news! One previously undecided GOP senator announced his decision yesterday. See below. –Mat

You and I are making progress. Just yesterday, Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO)—who had wavered on witnesses—came out against bringing in yet more testimony and documents in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.
“I do not believe we need to hear from an 18th witness," Gardner said. He reached his decision after "closely reviewing the evidence from the House, which included well over 100 hours of testimony from 17 witnesses.”
But other GOP senators are still wavering on whether to call more witnesses. And that’s why I’m asking you to join me in sending an urgent fax today! The vote is tomorrow, so make your voice heard NOW!
+ + Democrats concede: President Trump committed no crime...
It’s important to remember that Democrats concede President Trump committed no crime. That’s not their charge.
Instead, they want him removed from office because he acted with “corrupt motives.” He acted—they allege—out of political self-interest when, in a perfectly legal request, he asked Ukraine’s president to investigate corruption in his nation.
Trump’s alleged concern about Joe Biden and his son Hunter is “baseless,” Democrats charge. Worse, it’s an impeachable “abuse of power,” they say, for the president to ask for an investigation in that circumstance.
But President Trump isn’t alone in noticing that something fishy may have been going on with the Bidens in Ukraine—a country named “the most corrupt nation in Europe” by the Guardian newspaper in 2015.
In early 2014, President Obama assigned then-Vice President Biden to take the lead on U.S. policy toward Ukraine. Not long afterward, son Hunter landed a spot on the board of Ukraine’s largest oil and gas firm paying him between $50,000 and $83,333 a month.
And young Biden got the position, despite having “no experience in natural gas, no experience in the energy sector, no experience with Ukrainian regulatory affairs,” as Pam Bondi, one of President Trump’s attorneys, told the Senate Monday.
+ + Washington Post on Bidens . . . "nepotistic" or "nefarious"
Most media now ignore the Bidens’ questionable Ukraine dealings but in 2014, as Bondi noted, the Washington Post was indignant. It editorialized that “The appointment of the Vice President’s son to a Ukrainian oil board looks nepotistic at best, nefarious at worst.”
Bondi also cited Germany’s Deutsche Welle newspaper, which charged in May 2014 that, “The appointment of Joe Biden’s son to the board of Ukrainian gas firm Burisma has raised eyebrows the world over.”
Now we’re told by Democrats—and some in the media—that suspicions about the Bidens are baseless.
Instead, they say, the president should be impeached—thrown out of office—for raising legitimate concerns and allegedly withholding aid to Ukraine until it agreed to conduct a probe. Of course, the aid was released and there is no evidence the president tied U.S. assistance to a corruption investigation.
This is a sham, a political witch hunt, and it’s time to end it!
