Like you, I was amazed at news of President Trump's bold action to eliminate vicious Iranian commander Qassim Soleimani. Iraqis danced in the street—and some Iranians celebrated, too.

But on Capitol Hill, the hit on this terrorist with the blood of countless Americans on his hands provoked a predictably angry chorus of panicked criticism from “defeat and retreat” radicals. 

Joe Biden, for example, disparaged America's commander-in-chief, saying Trump “just tossed a stick of dynamite into a tinderbox.” In fact, the president acted to avenge the death of more than 600 U.S. servicemen killed under the command of Soleimani. And killing Soleimani disrupted plans, Trump said, to kill many more Americans.

But there's a lesson for you and me, as well, in President Trump's audacious act. See below. –Mat

Donald Trump stunned the world Thursday—and that includes Iran. The bold strike he ordered on a vicious Iranian war criminal showed us all why it's crucial, in any conflict, to be aggressive—to act with thought, dispatch and daring when the moment calls.

We won a huge case against Tampa, Florida, where the court struck down its counseling ban. The city has appealed. We now have three cases at Courts of Appeals. We are also engaged in lawsuits in California, Maryland and New Jersey. It is only a matter of time before one of our cases goes to the Supreme Court where we will overturn all these dangerous counseling bans nationwide.

• continuing to defend Kim Davis, who as a Kentucky county clerk asked for a religious accommodation and refused to violate her conscience by issuing same-sex marriage licenses. We won Kim's accommodation, but the ACLU wants Kim to pay damages.

• fighting the Southern Poverty Law Center in a huge civil suit that seeks to punish and even destroy Liberty Counsel.

• exposing and defeating blatant anti-Christian bigotry across this country, including in Indiana where the ACLU “grinches” have sued multiple local governments for displaying Nativity scenes, and in Boston where the city banned the display of the Christian flag.

• working on over 270 LGBT cases in schools and where the pro-homosexual agenda is seeking to crush the religious freedom of employees and employers. This is in addition to our work on Capitol Hill and the various state and local governments.

All these critical cases are impacting our families and our faith during one of the most pivotal times in American history.

This past year, we witnessed the mask of Satan being removed when New York legislators cheered after they passed a law permitting abortion up to birth and beyond. And now, the battles are about to get exponentially more intense.

If the political tide in 2020 goes the wrong way, then the blood of infants will flow freely and we will pay for their slaughter with our tax dollars. Children will be taught that they can choose to be male or female and parents could lose their children if they resist sex change surgeries. Sin will be protected by the force of law and churches will be required to celebrate the LGBT agenda.
