The U.S. Department of Justice is reportedly investigating Planned Parenthood over its heinous trade in baby body parts. One unknown about that barbaric practice is whether the children from whom Planned Parenthood harvests organs are still living when their eyes, livers, hearts, etc., are taken.

Sandra Merritt's undercover investigation, conducted with David Daleiden, president of the Center for Medical Progress, uncovered evidence that some babies are still alive when their organs are harvested. For example . . .

Holly O’Donnell, a "procurement technician" for a for-profit human tissue procurement firm, told CMP she was once asked by her supervisor to come see "something kind of neat."

It was a nearly intact late-term baby aborted at a Planned Parenthood facility in San Jose, California. The coworker took an instrument, O'Donnell said, "and she just taps the heart and it starts beating."

Referring to the infant's beating heart, O'Donnell said, "I don't know if that constitutes it's technically dead, or it's alive."

After O'Donnell watched the baby's heart beating, her next assignment was to harvest the infant's brain. A coworker showed her how to slice the child's face with a scissors, starting at the chin, so she could extract the brain tissue.

"I can't even describe what that feels like," O'Donnell said.

The Center for Medical Progress uncovered other evidence that intact human babies emerge alive after abortion procedures in Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities.

Dr. Ben Van Handel, the executive director of Novogenix, told a CMP investigator posing as a fetal parts buyer, "There are times when, after the procedure is done, that the heart is still beating." Novogenix has harvested fetal organs at the Planned Parenthood facility in Los Angeles.

Unbelievable.

Both California and federal laws mandate the same care for an infant who is born alive after an abortion as for a normally delivered baby. In addition, California law bars any experimentation on a fetus with a discernible heartbeat.

But it's not Planned Parenthood that California Attorney General Xavier Becerra is prosecuting. It’s our client, Sandra Merritt, who exposed how Planned Parenthood traffics in baby body parts.

Becerra, a partisan Democrat who has said he stands with Planned Parenthood, slapped Sandra with a 15-count felony criminal indictment. If convicted, Sandra could spend more than a decade behind bars.

Today is the first day of a lengthy preliminary hearing—a pre-trial to determine if there is adequate evidence to go to trial. It lasts two weeks and will be incredibly expensive.
