As you know, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra is trying to punish the pro-life heroism of Sandra Merritt. He is pursuing serious felony criminal charges against Sandra. If convicted, she faces prison and hefty fines.

Her crime? Going undercover to expose Planned Parenthood's heinous trade in human body parts.

But there's a problem. AG Becerra is anything but impartial. In fact, he is Planned Parenthood's hired gun. Consider the following . . .

• Planned Parenthood has showered AG Becerra with thousands in campaign donations.
• He celebrated his primary election in front of a poster reading, "I STAND WITH PLANNED PARENTHOOD."
• He even announced that his Office, is "united" with Planned Parenthood.

But these facts--and more--apparently didn't sway the California Supreme Court when we presented them to the court.

Without comment, the Court denied our request that it review state Attorney General Becerra's well-documented bias and collusion with Planned Parenthood--a $1.7 billion abortion giant.

The AG's criminal case against Sandra will now proceed. The preliminary hearing will be rescheduled and we'll soon face off in court against the full might of the state of California.

But to wage this fight on Sandra's behalf--and to defend Sandra against Planned Parenthood's separate civil suit seeking millions from her--I need your help.

AG Becerra filed a 15-count indictment against Sandra in 2017. She and fellow citizen journalist David Daleiden went undercover to expose Planned Parenthood's greedy commerce in human body parts harvested from the little babies it dismembers and decapitates.

The video evidence she and Daleiden captured is appalling...

• In one video, a Planned Parenthood official haggles over the price of human organs and jokes, "I want a Lamborghini."
• "We've been very good at getting heart, lung, liver," another Planned Parenthood medical officer reveals, while munching salad and sipping wine.
• In another scene, Planned Parenthood abortion workers nonchalantly pick through glass dishes filled with tiny arms, legs, eyeballs and organs.

Planned Parenthood reacted in fury and Sandra shot to the top of their enemies list.

The abortion giant is suing Sandra for millions in civil court and Becerra slapped her with serious felony charges. She faces years in prison and huge fine--all for doing what is a commonly accepted journalistic practice.

A First Amendment attorney told Courthouse News that Sandra used “tried-and-true investigative techniques” to expose Planned Parenthood.

In fact, other well-publicized undercover investigations exposing the meat industry, unethical treatment of animals or consumer fraud have all taken place in California. And yet Merritt and Daleiden are the first undercover journalists to be criminally prosecuted in the history of the state.

This is a selective and discriminatory prosecution brought by an AG who is in Planned Parenthood's pocket.

And now that we're going back into the courtroom, with a preliminary hearing just ahead, our litigation expenses will once more soar.

Because our legal team must travel to California--and stay there for extended periods--we face airfare, hotel and car rental expenses. Add to all that the hefty cost to transcribe voluminous depositions and other related expenses. Together, all this is imposing a huge financial burden on Liberty Counsel.
