Liberty Counsel is pleased to announce that Christmas has returned to the Minoa School District. The District reversed a prior decision that essentially banned all things Christmas.
As a result of the reversal, the District will now incorporate both Christian and Jewish songs into the “Holiday” musical and permit teachers to welcome Santa into the classroom. The school also gave a recent assignment asking students to correct grammatical errors in the poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Liberty Counsel is pleased that the matter was quickly resolved and that the spirit of Christmas has returned to the District. It is not only constitutional but also reasonable to acknowledge Christmas in the public schools.
This year, Christian Educators Association International joined Liberty Counsel in its seventh annual Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign, a campaign that is designed to educate and, if necessary, litigate to make sure religious viewpoints regarding Christmas are not censored.
We are winning the war against Christmas, but the war is far from over. Each Christmas season stands on its own. While the war will no doubt continue, excellent progress has been made.
Liberty Counsel has legal memoranda that address the law regarding this issue on its Christmas page. Click on the I ♥ CHRISTmas button on our home page at www.LC.org.
