Town Allows Christmas Decor After Pressure from Residents and Liberty Counsel

Oct 23, 2006

A Wisconsin man has been tirelessly pressing the town of Racine since last December to allow a nativity scene. His efforts paid off after he galvanized a coalition of area churches and residents to bring the Christmas issue before the Racine Common Council. Last week the Council agreed to allow annual Christmas displays.

Go to www.LC.org/Christmas to order a Help Save Christmas™ action pack, which includes educational legal memoranda to educate government officials, teachers, parents, students, private businesses, employees and others that it is legal to celebrate Christmas. The action pack also includes our very popular "I Love CHRISTmas™" button, bumper stickers and other items to promote Christmas.

Appeals Court to Hear Good News Club Case

Tomorrow morning, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral argument in the case of Child Evangelism Fellowship of South Carolina v. Anderson School District 5. The district has refused to treat CEF on an equal basis to other after school groups that use the facilities. Liberty Counsel sued the school in order to obtain equal access for CEF's Good News Clubs. Pray that the panel of judges hearing the appeal will be favorable to our position, so that elementary school children can be reached for Christ through the after school Good News Clubs.

Join the One-A-Month Ten Commandments Campaign

Many people ask themselves, "What can one person do?" Roma Murray of Orlando, Florida found an innovative answer to that question by creating the One-A-Month Ten Commandments Campaign. She printed each of the Commandments on reusable vinyl window decals so that people can display one Commandment on their car window, or other glass surface, each month.

Visit http://10CommandmentsOnline.org to order a set of 12 reusable window decals. Since there are only 10 Commandments and 12 months, the set includes Bible verses for November and December. Below is a picture of the November and January decals, but the artwork on the actual decals is much much more clear and attractive than can be depicted online. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Liberty Counsel. We are grateful to the Murrays for their support.
