On August 14, at 7:00 p.m. ET, Coral Ridge Ministies will host a special "hate crimes" seminar to discuss the threat a federal "hate crimes" bill poses to freedom of speech and religion.  

Matt Barber, Liberty Counsel's Director of Cultural Affairs, is a scheduled speaker at the Assault On Liberty seminar, to be held in the CRM TV Studio at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

A portion of the Assault On Liberty seminar will be streamed live online at 7:00 p.m. tonight, and will be archived on the web site tomorrow.

Last year, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a "hate crimes" bill which would deliver tougher penalties for crimes committed and motivated by "the actual of perceived … sexual orientation" of a crime victim.

Other speakers include Tristan Emmanuel, a Canadian minister and President of the Equipping Christians for the Public-square Centre; Robert Knight, director of the Culture and Media Institute; and Dawn Stefanowicz, author, speaker, and media spokesperson. Coral Ridge Ministries was founded by Dr. D. James Kennedy.
