In June, we told you about a federal class action lawsuit that was filed by a competitor against Bullseye Collection Agency because the agency used "WWJD" as a business motto. We are pleased to report that the lawsuit has been dismissed and cannot be refiled.
Bullseye, a small family-run business in Minnesota, uses "WWJD" (What Would Jesus Do) on its stationery as a reminder to act with diligence and respect in an industry traditionally characterized by ruthlessness and incivility. The plaintiffs, Mark and Sara Neill, complained that Bullseye's use of "WWJD" was oppressive and harrassing. Mark Neill is the President of one of Bullseye's competitors, Bureau of Collection Recovery (BCR).
In addition to vigorously defending Bullseye, we filed a comprehensive counterclaim against the plaintiffs and BCR. After receiving our counterclaim, the plaintiffs abandoned their crusade against Bullseye and agreed to dismiss the lawsuit.
As a result, Bullseye remains free to use "WWJD." Clearly, Christian businessmen and women are not required to ignore their faith while in their offices.
