The Day of Silence is promoted as a day in our public schools and colleges when students take a vow of silence during the entire school day to protest discrimination and abuse of "lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered students." In reality, it’s a day to promote the radical “gay” political agenda. The Day of Silence website encourages students to protest the lack of "lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender" educational resources, and protest how society and our schools have “role assignments based upon our assumed gender.”
Unfortunately, the Day of Silence appears to be gaining popularity each year. This year the Day of Silence will be recognized on April 21. The web site maintains a list of participating schools -- you might be surprised to find that your local school is involved. We must help and encourage the youth in our communities to combat the "gay" agenda.
There are activities that you can do on the Day of Silence to promote a positive abstinence-based message. Our Day of Purity project has a variety of flyers you can distribute. Students should also wear our Day of Purity t-shirts, or simply wear a white t-shirt on the Day of Silence to signify their commitment to purity.
We are also cooperating with Concerned Women for America of Virginia to publicize their brochure entitled “At the End of the Rainbow," that presents an alternative message to the Day of Silence. Each color of the rainbow addresses one of the eight myths. For example, two of the myths addressed are that “homosexuals cannot change” and “10% of the population is homosexual.” We encourage you to download your free brochure. The brochures were designed for distribution by students in public schools.
As with other literature, students have the constitutional right to distribute the brochure during non-instructional time - during lunch, between classes, as well as before and after school. If you run into difficulty, call us immediately for assistance in defending your rights at 1-800-671-1776.
