Liberty Counsel announced today a new partnership with the pro-life organization, Personhood USA. This partnership will enable both Liberty Counsel and Personhood USA to be more effective in advocating for the passage of personhood legislation and state initiatives for constitutional amendments in states across the country.

Personhood legislation or state constitutional initiatives declare that human life begins at conception and extend the full protection of the law to all human beings from the moment of conception. Personhood USA led the fight for constitutional amendments affirming the personhood of every human being in both Colorado and Mississippi, providing an important grassroots organization that was needed for these efforts.  Personhood USA will be increasing its efforts to pass personhood legislation and initiatives.

Liberty Counsel will aggressively defend Personhood USA as part of this new partnership. Liberty Counsel has an extensive history of fighting for the cause of life. The first case that Liberty Counsel founder Mat Staver argued before the U.S. Supreme Court dealt with an unconstitutional restriction on pro-life sidewalk counselors.

It is undisputed medical science that human life begins at the moment of conception. The right to life is the right of all rights. Without the right to life, all other rights are meaningless. Abortion not only destroys a human life but also demeans women and destroys families. The days of Roe v. Wade are numbered.
