Liberty Counsel Argues Historic Marriage Case at California Supreme Court Tomorrow

Mar 3, 2008

Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 4, 2008) Mathew Staver is scheduled to present oral argument at the California Supreme Court in San Francisco. He will participate in a three-hour hearing and will argue in favor of upholding California's marriage law, to preserve marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

You can watch this precedent-setting case unfold at www.calchannel.com from 9:00 a.m. - noon PST (noon - 3:00 p.m. EST).

This is the most important marriage battle we have faced in many years because California will set the tone for the rest of the nation.

Since this case started, we have expended over 1,500 hours of legal time in this one fight to defend marriage! We estimate that the value of attorney time and actual costs is approximately $500,000 for this one case. Last year, the legal documents in this case stacked up to over 14 feet high, and the file has continued to grow.

And yet, we estimate that in cases like this, our opponents (including the ACLU, LAMBDA, Equality California, the National Center for Lesbian Rights and other radical pro-homosexual groups) will typically spend two, three or four times as much to undermine the values that made America great. Yet, Liberty Counsel does not get the multi-million-dollar donations those groups receive from the liberal elites.

We are totally dependent on gifts from friends like you. Will you help in this fight to save marriage with a tax-deductible gift today?

Your support will help us right now in California and in other crucial battles we are waging across the nation to protect liberty, life, and family.

Thank you in advance for your generous support, and for your prayers as our team prepares for this crucial case.
