In an historic event, Vice President Mike Pence will address the hundreds of thousands of pro-life citizens who are participating today in the annual March for Life in Washington. A U.S. president or vice president has never spoken in person at the event, now in its 44th year. One of President Donald Trump's top advisers, Kellyanne Conway, is also on the list of speakers.
The March for Life is held annually marking the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion nationwide. Participants will rally on the National Mall and then march to the Supreme Court building on Capitol Hill.
Pro-life citizens, the majority of which are teenagers and young adults, have spent many hours traveling on buses from all across the nation to participate in the march. Student members of Carmel Teens for Life, a pro-life high school club in Indiana represented by Liberty Counsel, will be among the participants. School administrators at Carmel High School previously censored and removed a poster display created by club members on the basis of another student’s complaint that it was “offensive.”
