Urge UPS to Honor the Religious Freedom of Its Employees
Dear UPS,
As a concerned American I am writing to request that UPS honor the religious freedom of its employees by allowing staff to resume prayer meetings on personal time. Furthermore, I ask UPS to restore the employment of employees previously fired for expressing their religious beliefs and to prevent retaliation against those employees.
Not only are employers prohibited from discriminating against employees based on their religious beliefs under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e–2(a), such actions go against the grain of who we are as Americans. Most companies, especially ones with thousands of drivers taking to the roads every day and under sometimes dangerous conditions, would count themselves fortunate to have employees voluntarily gather in prayer before their shifts. It is my genuine hope that UPS will ensure a corporate policy of religious freedom.
Sincerely,
Your Name
