Biden Says Bye to Hyde in Latest Budget Proposal

Jun 14, 2021

The Hyde Amendment has predominantly protected Americans’ tax dollars from funding elective abortions for more than 40 years.
Hyde protections have been widely accepted across political parties—until recent years—and most Americans still support such measures. As recently as January 2021, polling showed 58% of Americans oppose taxpayer funding of abortion.
Even Joe Biden supported the Hyde Amendment until 2019 when he changed his tune as he was running for president.
But in Biden’s latest budget proposal, he removed these widely accepted, decades-old protections, opening the possibility of your tax dollars being used for the killing of unborn children.
The removal of Hyde protections is just the latest in a long line of radical pro-abortion actions Biden has taken since entering the White House.
Since January, the Biden administration:
  1. Reaffirmed a commitment to seeing Roe v. Wade codified in law.
  2. Withdrew the U.S. from the Geneva Consensus.
  3. Repealed the Mexico City Policy.
  4. Reversed the Title X Rule.
  5. Reinstated funding to the United Nations Population Fund.
  6. Signed the American Rescue Plan Act.
  7. Nominated Xavier Becerra as secretary of Health and Human Services.
  8. Promised to make passing the “Equality Act” a priority.
  9. Approved telemedicine abortions.
  10. Reversed a policy that halted National Institutes of Health-funded research using aborted fetal tissue, meaning Americans will now fund research that uses tissue from aborted babies.

The Biden administration continues to promote abortion, and they expect you to, as well—regardless of your beliefs—and foot the bill for it.
If you are in the majority of Americans who oppose taxpayer funding of abortion, contact your members of Congress today and urge them to hold the line in the budget for pro-life protections. Life is at stake.
