How to Distribute Literature and Display Posters
for the "Change is Possible Campaign"

You have the right to hand out literature at school for the Change is Possible Campaign, during non-class time, in the same way students can hand out any other literature during non-class time. Some school policies set guidelines on how and when you can distribute literature. Some of those policies are constitutional, some are not. Here are some things to keep in mind:

1.                  The policy might require you to ask permission before you distribute literature. If so, the policy should require school officials to respond to you within a day or two. If you don’t get a response, contact Liberty Counsel  immediately – we can help you for free.

2.                  The policy might require you to distribute literature from only one area of the school. If so, give Liberty Counsel a call to let us examine the policy.

3.                  The policy might state that you can only distribute literature you create yourself – if so, visit www.pfox.org for ideas to create your own brochure. If the policy says that any literature can be distributed – whether created by you or someone else -- then visit www.pfox.org to download brochures for distribution.

4.                  The policy might state that students have no right to distribute any literature. If that is what you are told, call Liberty Counsel immediately. You have the right to distribute literature, and we can help you for free.

5.                  These same guidelines apply for posters – you have the right to display posters displaying the "Change is Possible" message to the same extent other students put up posters with other messages.

If you have any questions about your rights, contact Liberty Counsel immediately at 1-800-671-1776 or online. Remember, your goal should be to lovingly spread the message that students can overcome unwanted same-sex attractions.
